DEFINING THRESHOLD (May 13 – July 3) Features the works of Connie Burket (Salina), Linda Foster (Miltonvale), Andrea Fuhrman (Abilene), Becky Hyberger (Salina), Ruth Moritz (Salina), Debbie Wagner (Salina), and Lori Wright (Salina) as they explore the concept of ‘Threshold’ through various mixed media (drawing, painting, sculpture, assemblage, and installation) .

Curt Clonts of Wichita, KS  is a mixed media painter living in Wichita, Kansas. He was a student of regionalist painter Maleta Forsberg and of nationally recognized painter James “Jim” Gross. He was the Artist-In-Residence at Wichita’s Friends University from 2006 to 2013. He is a former arts commentator (“An Artist’s Perspective”) heard on KMUW Radio, Wichita’s NPR Affiliate. His most recent solo shows were at Reuben Saunders Gallery in Wichita, Leedy-Volkous Art in KCMO, and The Birger Sandzen Gallery in Lindsborg. Curt’s art is featured in the book “Wichita Artists In Their Studios” by Sondra Langel. His art is featured in permanent collections which include The Emprise Bank Collection and Wichita Art Museum.

Ron Michael  is a Lindsborg, Kansas, artist who works with clay, stone, wood, and paper to make imaginative sculpture, vessels, disks and drawings that are inspired by surfaces, forms, and other stuff found in nature. He is a proponent of the slow art movement, employs the simplest methods possible, and is an artist prone to mistakes (warping clay, miss-measured wood cuts, broken stone, etc.) but soldiers on anyway.mMichael also serves as the director of the Birger Sandzén Memorial Gallery in Lindsborg. He has exhibited in many regional and national exhibitions; taught art at the collegiate and high school levels; juried innumerable art competitions; and been involved with several regional arts organizations. He has degrees from the University of Kansas, along with Emporia and Fort Hays State Universities.
