The Fabric Speaks

The Lincoln Art Center will feature an exhibit of selected quilts by Kathryne Perney, Salina, KS, and the Lincoln Quilt Guild.  The opening reception will be held at the Lincoln Art Center on Friday, January 9, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The quilts will be displayed through the end of February 2026.

Kathryne says she was making doll clothes around 8 years old and using the sewing machine. Later, she began making her own clothes. She has loved fabric and putting together different fabrics for a very long time. Sometime in the 80’s she took up quilt making and hasn’t stopped since. Kathryne says “Shopping for and buying fabric is addictive.”

The Lincoln Quilt Guild will have approximately 20 members displaying quilts. They meet on the last Saturday of the month at a local quilt shop, The KC Quilting Company.

The artists will speak at 6:15 p.m. and visit with guests. Refreshments will be served.

The art center is open Tuesday through Friday from noon to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to noon. For more information call 785-524-3241 or email lincolnartcenter@att.net, visit our Facebook page, or website lincolnartcenter.org.
