An exhibit of new work from three Lawrence KS artists–MARTY OLSON, MARIA MARTIN, LIZA MACKINNON
July 8 – August 31, 2022
Marty Olson has pursued a variety of themes for expressing what dances in his head through the years: Healing Hearts, Sacred Imagery, Eastern and Western Letterforms, as well as Regional Environmental Imagery, both recognizable and abstracted.
“Why Art?” Art helps us see the world in a different perspective, learning something about people, experiencing a different emotional feeling and energy that may ignite something within us. –Maria Martin
I love the challenge of telling a story through the limited medium of costumes fashioned from paper. These sculptures contain layers of meaning and messages through the materials chosen. I work with recycled books, maps, letters and photos to reveal complex stories and history. –Liza MacKinnon
