BLAZE–a distinctive mark
made to indicate a trail,
a path, or a boundary
Thirty-nine artists respond to the following prompt in thirty-nine different ways: HOW WOULD YOU MARK THE TRAIL OF YOUR LIFE? Would it be with a slash, a splash, a sign? Do you burn a bold mark, etch a fine line, carve a notch, tie a bright ribbon, stack a delicate cairn of stones? Will we find a chart, a graph, a map? Do you use bright colors or leave a nearly invisible stain? Does your blaze point the way or slip quietly into shadow?
