Two Generations, Three Artists

The Lincoln Art Center will feature an exhibit of selected works by Barbara Waterman-Peters, painting, Larry Peters, ceramics, and Trudy Waterman, photography, all of Topeka, Kansas. The opening reception will be held at the Lincoln Art Center on Friday, May 9 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The show will continue through June 28, 2025.

Barbara received a BFA, Washburn University, MFA, Kansas State University, Doctor of Fine Arts, Washburn University. She has taught at Washburn and Kansas State as well as Lassen Community College in California. Her work has been included in more than 350 solo, group, and juried exhibits. She is represented by several galleries, Jones in KC, SNW in Manhattan, Ruben Saunders in Wichita. She also owned STUDIO 831 in the NOTO district in Topeka from 2010-2024.

Larry has BFA from Washburn University, and an MFA from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He was the Gallery Director of the Alice C. Sabatini Gallery, Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library and curator of Permanent Collections from 1975-2003. In 1990, he was given the Kansas Governor’s Art Award. His work is in the collections of the Mulvane Art Museum, the Alice C. Sabatini Gallery, Emprise Bank, and private collections in several states.

Trudy has a BS from Kansas State University and has been a resident of Nebraska since 2006. Her photography education includes studies in black & white film, a study master photographers. Award winning photographs have been national and international juried shows, solo and group exhibitions, her work is in both public and private collections.

The Lincoln Center Improvement Committee’s city flag contest designs will be a display at the Lincoln Art Center Friday & Saturday for the public to vote for their favorite design.

The artists will speak at 6:15 and visit with guests. Refreshments will be served.
