Complementary Juxtapositions

The Lincoln Art Center will feature a new exhibit in November and December, entitled “Complementary Juxtapositions.” The exhibit includes selected works by Rodney Wood, Hoisington, KS, and Mark Freeman, Overland Park, KS. The opening reception will be Friday, November 8 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., and the show will run through December 28, 2024.

Rodney Wood is a Colorado native who for years has lived in the Western United States. He has worked in, owned, or managed, numerous art galleries. He is a visual artist who primarily paints in oil.

“I am fascinated and drawn to uncommon environments and spaces,” Wood said.

Mark Freeman teaches Ceramics & Painting at Barton Community College. Freeman is a contemporary artist who is known for his expressive abstract compositions and bold use of color.

“I believe art can have something important to say about the human condition, it can take us into new areas of thought and feeling,” Freeman said.

The artists will speak at 6:15 p.m. and visit with guests. Refreshments will be served.

The art center is open Tuesday through Friday Noon to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to Noon. For more information call 785-524-3241 or email lincolnartcenter@att.net, visit our Facebook page, or website lincolnartcenter.org.
